Himeko Nova Guide

Himeko Nova is a limited 5-Star Fire Erudition character obtained from the Ad Astra Nova Character Event Warp. Her basic turn flow is easy to recognize: deploy Starblazer Visioscape with her Talent, spend the party Assist Skill at the right moment, then use her Skill to refill it and her Ultimate to convert Source Energy into a six-shot sequence. The important decision is not simply when to press an extra button. It is which Companion Protocol your team can activate reliably, because Verdict and Decimation are mutually exclusive.

Get her from Ad Astra Nova

Himeko Nova first appeared in Honkai: Star Rail version 4.4, In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound. Her Character Event Warp is named Ad Astra Nova and runs from July 15, 2026 at 11:00 UTC+8 until August 25, 2026 at 15:00 UTC+8. She is the only featured 5-Star on that banner. Moze, Hanya, and Serval are its featured 4-Star characters. Her signature light cone, A Star That Lights the Night, appears on the parallel Brilliant Fixation light cone banner.

This is a limited pull, not a standard acquisition route. The regular 5-Star Himeko remains a separate character and can appear in the standard pool, but she does not substitute for Nova. Nova also has a team interaction with original Himeko through Decimation, so owning both is a synergy option rather than a duplicate character problem. Banner dates are useful for saving decisions, but they do not establish a future rerun schedule. No later rerun date is part of the published banner information.

For a new account, do not judge the pull only by Path and element. Fire Erudition tells you that Nova can handle multi-target damage, but her real account value comes from the roster around her. Check the trigger list for Verdict and Decimation before converting tickets. If one of those groups is already built, the pull has a clearer team home on day one.

Read the Assist Skill correctly

Starblazer Visioscape is the field created by Nova’s Talent whenever she is on the field. It summons Starblazer and gives every ally one Assist Skill use. The command is not the same as a normal Skill. On PC, it is activated with F. On PlayStation and Xbox controllers, it uses Down on the directional pad. The key cannot be rebound. This separate input matters because the Assist Skill is a party resource rather than a second personal action only for Nova.

An ally who activates Assist Skill gives up its current turn, then Starblazer attacks as an Extra Turn. That distinction prevents a common mistake in planning rotations. The ally is not taking a normal Skill action followed by a delayed follow-up. The command is a deliberate turn conversion that lets Starblazer resolve outside ordinary action flow. The basic version hits all enemies for 80%-176% of Nova’s ATK, then sends three 12%-26.4% bounces to random targets. Nova’s own version is stronger: 100%-220% AoE damage plus four 18%-34.8% bounces.

Assist Skill starts with one use at most. Nova’s Skill immediately restores all uses, then grants Navigator’s Semaphore for three turns. At the start of each of those turns, the party recovers another use. Her Talent and Eidolons create additional recovery rules, so a finished team should plan where each command is spent instead of holding it until the end of combat.

Pick Verdict or Decimation

Verdict activates when Trailblazer, Dan Heng, Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae, Dan Heng - Permansor Terrae, or Sunday uses Assist Skill. This branch raises Nova’s personal damage and Ultimate damage by 50%-110%. After allies actively use two Ultimates, Nova gets a free Assist Skill. Verdict is the direct route for an account that wants Nova to remain the clear damage center and already runs one of those Trailblaze Companion cores.

Decimation activates through March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or original Himeko. It raises party Critical Damage by 50%-110% and adds the same bonus to Skill Critical Damage. Each enemy hit contributes a stack. At nine stacks, the team consumes the stack total and Nova gains a free Assist Skill. This route rewards frequent multi-target hits and turns the party into a critical-damage engine rather than focusing only on Nova’s Ultimate.

The two branches cannot operate together in the same battle. Both draw on the shared Assist Skill economy, so filling a team with mixed triggers does not produce a double buff. Choose the characters that make one branch repeatable. A player with Sunday and a Dan Heng form should start from Verdict. A player with Welt, original Himeko, or a multi-hit AoE core should examine Decimation.

Learn her basic combat loop

Open a wave with Nova present so Starblazer Visioscape is already deployed. Use the party Assist Skill when it creates a useful break, clears a wave, or advances the selected protocol. Nova’s own Skill restores the command immediately, grants Navigator’s Semaphore, and raises the team’s damage by 10%-22% for three turns. That makes her Skill the reset point of the rotation, not merely a small personal multiplier.

Her Ultimate costs 150 Energy. During it, Nova controls Starblazer and fires six Hyperluminal Particle Beams. Each beam deals AoE Fire damage and grants Source Energy. She can spend Source Energy on Orbital Annihilation Pulse, which damages all enemies and adds random-target hits when more than one Source Energy is available. When the beam uses are exhausted, the pulse resolves automatically, followed by three Final Hits. The Ultimate is therefore strongest when the team has already established its protocol and can let the multi-hit sequence exploit the resulting damage bonuses.

Nova’s Talent also grants 10%-22% All-Type RES PEN and 40%-88% Critical Damage to herself. Her attacks can reduce Toughness regardless of enemy weakness, with a Fire Weakness Break effect when she breaks. These details explain why her turn can remain valuable against enemies that are not naturally Fire-weak, though they do not replace normal team coverage and sustain planning.

Decide if your account benefits

Nova is a strong pull for a player who can make Assist Skill timing meaningful. Verdict accounts gain a focused Fire Erudition carry with more personal and Ultimate damage. Decimation accounts gain an AoE carry who also creates a high-Critical-Damage environment for the team. Both versions ask for attention to turn order, allies’ Ultimates, and the shared command limit. That is the tradeoff for the team utility in her kit.

Wait if no practical trigger character is available and building one would drain more resources than the banner is worth. Nova still has Fire damage, Toughness reduction, and a large Ultimate sequence, but the protocol is the feature that separates her from a standard AoE carry. If your goal is only an immediate damage number with no rotation planning, an already-built team may provide better value.

For build decisions, start with Critical Rate and the signature light cone question. For roster decisions, choose a protocol before selecting relic substats. Those two steps keep Nova’s investment aligned with the reason she was pulled.
