Himeko Nova FAQ

This Himeko Nova FAQ collects the questions that change a pull, build, or first team decision. The short version is that she is a Fire Erudition carry with a shared Assist Skill command, two mutually exclusive Companion Protocols, and a 150-Energy Ultimate sequence. The useful answer depends on your roster: Verdict rewards Trailblazer, Dan Heng, and Sunday cores, while Decimation rewards March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or original Himeko with multi-target hit patterns. Read the answers as account-planning checks rather than universal tier statements.

Pulling and team questions

Is Himeko Nova worth pulling?

She is worth prioritizing when one protocol already has a home on your account.

Verdict is a good fit for teams using Trailblazer, Dan Heng variants, or Sunday. It raises Nova’s damage and Ultimate damage, then grants a free Assist Skill after allies use two Ultimates. Decimation fits March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or original Himeko teams and adds party Critical Damage while rewarding multi-target hits. If neither group is built, Nova still has strong Fire damage, but the signature part of her kit has less immediate value.

How does the Assist Skill work?

Every ally receives one shared command from Starblazer Visioscape.

Nova’s Talent deploys Starblazer Visioscape whenever she is on the field. Each ally receives one Assist Skill use. An ally spends its current turn to command Starblazer, then the attack resolves as an Extra Turn. On PC the command uses F, while controllers use Down on the directional pad. Nova’s Skill restores all uses, and Navigator’s Semaphore returns another use at each turn start for three turns.

Can Verdict and Decimation be active together?

No. The protocols are mutually exclusive and use the same command economy.

Verdict activates through Trailblazer, Dan Heng forms, or Sunday. Decimation activates through March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or original Himeko. Both start from the shared Assist Skill supplied by Nova’s Talent, so a mixed roster does not receive both bonuses at once. Select one branch, build its trigger order, and use the party command to advance that branch consistently rather than alternating without a stable payoff.

Build and investment questions

Is Himeko Nova friendly to free-to-play accounts?

Yes, if the team can activate a protocol and the relic plan builds enough Critical Rate.

Her signature light cone is the highest-ceiling option because it supports DEF ignore, Energy gain, Assist Skill damage, and Ultimate damage together. The Seriousness of Breakfast is the safer budget recommendation in the current consensus. A free-to-play build should still prioritize Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Speed, and ATK%, then use As Navigator Isee Sees It and Fallen Star Anchorage when the Trailblaze Companion condition is available.

Does original Himeko work with Nova?

Yes. Original Himeko is a Decimation trigger and both characters can be placed in one party.

When original Himeko uses Assist Skill, she can activate Companion Protocol: Decimation. That branch raises party Critical Damage and builds stacks from enemy hits until Nova gains a free Assist Skill. The two Himeko versions are separate playable units, not alternate skins sharing one slot. They also have a dedicated team voice interaction, so the pairing is supported by both mechanics and character presentation.

What are Nova’s best relics?

Use As Navigator Isee Sees It and Fallen Star Anchorage as the target set pair.

The relic set gives 12% ATK from two pieces, then stacks Skill and Ultimate damage after entering battle or using Skill. Fallen Star Anchorage gives 8% Critical Rate and an additional 32% Critical Damage at battle start when Nova and another ally have the Trailblaze Companions tag. Use a Critical Rate body, ATK% boots, a Fire DMG or ATK% Sphere, and an ATK% Rope as the standard main-stat plan.

Combat and banner questions

How much Energy does her Ultimate need?

Her Ultimate costs 150 Energy and turns its six beam shots into Source Energy.

We, Too, Stride the Stars lets Nova fire six Hyperluminal Particle Beams, each of which gains Source Energy. She can spend Source Energy on Orbital Annihilation Pulse, which adds more random-target hits when she has more than one Energy unit. After the beam uses are exhausted, the pulse triggers automatically and three Final Hits follow. Use the Ultimate after the selected protocol is active so the full sequence benefits from the team setup.

Which Eidolons matter first?

E1 improves protocol timing and E2 is the major command-capacity upgrade.

E1 adds an Assist Skill use, lowers Verdict’s allied-Ultimate requirement, lowers Decimation’s stack requirement, and adds a Nova Assist Skill hit. E2 raises the use cap to two, improves Ultimate and Assist Skill damage, adds recovery during Navigator’s Semaphore, and expands Extra Turn support. E0 is fully functional. E1 is a strong early stopping point, while E2 is for players building Nova as a long-term carry.

When does Ad Astra Nova end?

The first Himeko Nova banner ends August 25, 2026 at 15:00 UTC+8.

Ad Astra Nova began with version 4.4 on July 15, 2026 at 11:00 UTC+8. The banner dates can show July 14 in some western time zones because the release instant crosses a local calendar date. Check the client for your region’s display, but treat the published UTC+8 window as the source schedule. A later rerun date has not been announced.

The fastest way to use this FAQ is to answer the roster question first. Name the characters that can trigger Verdict or Decimation on your account, then decide whether their gear and turn order are ready to support Nova. After that, choose the build path, check the banner end time, and only then compare Eidolons or the signature light cone. This order avoids spending around a theoretical team that cannot activate the mechanic Nova was pulled for.
